June-July

- every Saturday: Latin in the Park: see 'learning Latin and Greek section'. This finishes with a Roman cooking demonstration and BBQ in Singleton Park at 4.30pm on Saturday 28th July. More information soon.

- Saturday 28th July (all day) at the Waterfront Museum: ancient Greek Olympic day for families, with workshops, a quiz, games, and talks.

 

Later in the year

- early October: Prof Ceri Davies (Emeritus - Swansea University) will talk on Latin authors in 16th century Glamorgan.

- Halloween: Dr Pauline Hanesworth (Trinity Saint David) will talk on something suitably scary.

- Dr Michael Scott, famous from his BBC series on Delphi, will give a talk.

 

 Past events

- Thursday 19th January at 7.30pm (Swansea University - Callaghan Lecture Theatre, Callaghan Building): Dr Joanne Berry (Swansea University) will talk on 'fake excavations at Pompeii'. Nibbles and drinks to follow. A poster with information can be found here.

- Thursday 26th of January at 3.30pm: launch of the 'Literacy through Latin' volunteering scheme at Swansea University. Dr Graham Kirby (The Iris Project), Prof John Morgan (Dept of History and Classics, Swansea University), and Dr Evelien Bracke (Swansea University) will deliver short talks on the importance of Latin in primary school education in room 218 of the Wallace Building.
